Announcing Extended Security Updates for Windows 10 until October 12th, 2027

Windows 10 launched in July 2015, backed by Microsoft's commitment to support the release for a full ten years. That support officially came to an end on October 14, 2025. To ease the transition, Microsoft had announced an Extended Security Updates (ESU) program in April 2024, originally slated to run for one additional year and expire on October 12, 2026. However, with Windows 10 still seeing heavy use well into mid-2026, Microsoft made the decision to extend the program by another year — critical security updates will now continue through October 12, 2027.
